Does anyone have safety monioring system such as Life Alert?

I have had three fall over the last few months and live alone. Can anyone recommend one?

My grandma had LIFE ALERT. She fell often and it was a life saver for her...no pun intended. A call would to go my cousin that lived near by if no response, 911 was called.

If my cousin was not available she would call me to see if I was close by...we never had to have 911 come to the house because either she was always available or I was able to go to her, with my husband, and pick her up.

What happens if the contacts aren't available and 911 is called..Do they break down the door.?.Seriously..I've always wondered about that.

@Jo1313 YUP! Only if the person does not have a lockbox AND left instructions w/the police & fire department.

My mom had Senior Safety, it was very reasonable and credible, they were easy to deal with.

I have one from my Alarm Co .I live alone! It is a bracelet or you can have a Necklace. It is waterproof so I can wear it in the Shower so I never take it off. There is a monitor in my living room that will answer me if I fall & press the botton on my bracelet. If I don't answer it calls 2 of my daughters & if necessary an Ambulance. The kids have the code to get in my home & a key also. I have fallen twice & couldn't get up because my knees are bad so prior to the Alert Button my son-in-law would come to lift me. It does not have a GPS so I don't wear it when I go out of my home. It does work if I'm in my garage or on my patio. but not if I drive away from my home. Because I have an Alarm System in my home, the Company gave me a discount so it is about $35 a mo. Well worth it for peace of mind. The Life Alert that is advertised on TV is very expensiv ($90 a mo.)& mine does eveerything I need. Hope this helps !!!!🤗

I have an Apple watch, as does my husband. A few years ago I fell in the snow while filling the birdfeeders, I was unable to get up-the snow was too deep. I told a friend about it and she suggested the Apple watch. She had passed out in her home, when the watch asked her if she was okay and got no response it called 911 and sent an ambulance. It saved her life.

I have a Smart Watch that can make and answer calls and has Alexa Emergency App. I called to check it out and it had already called EMS and my son!

Very inexpensive! Watch under $100 and $6.00 per month!

My friends have them - Life Alert.

They also (most of us do) have a Knoxbox (brand name) it's a box with our key inside. The County paramedics have a master key to open. We registered with County. The box is on the wall outside our front door.

Sure beats them breaking into the house and causing damage.

My deceased Aunt and one of my friends both had/have one of these systems. Both women lived alone, were on blood thinners and both had a tendency to fall (my friend much more than my Aunt). Since they were on blood thinners, they would bleed profusely if they hit anything when they fell down. Their systems have been life savers.

We insisted that my Aunt get one after she fell in her home and didn't have the strength to crawl to the phone to get help (her cell phone was in her purse out of reach). The thing that convinced her that she needed an alert system was the fact that she had no idea if she had been laying on the floor for hours or days. Up to this point, she had been an extremely active and independent 95 year old woman. She still drove, bowled in 2 leagues, walked 45 minutes everyday, managed her church's thrift shop and was very proud of her ability to live on her own. We used to joke that you practically had to make an appointment to visit her, she was that busy.

Although the most commonly known brand is Life Alert, that's not the one they used. They got their systems directly from a local hospital. They subscribed to the system for a monthly fee and provided the names of 3 persons to be contacted in the event of an emergency. During an "event" the representative will call 911 if appropriate, as well as the 3 points of contact. My friend has a lockbox on her door so the EMT's can get into her house easily. Neither woman would have been able to stay in their homes without this system. When my Aunt died, we terminated the subscription and returned the system to the hospital. My friend still uses hers. Check with your local hospitals, your County's Office for the Aging, etc. to see if they recommend a particular system. Good luck!
