Re: Does anyone else feel this way?

I'm glad I got rid of my landline for that very reason.  I still get scam and robo calls on my cell but it's easy to block them. Over time, they have become fewer and farther between.

No. I don’t even recall getting unwanted calls when I had a landline but it has been many years since I had one.

At some point I actually wanted to just get rid of the landline but the husband wouldn't allow it, because of ADT.   I cannot imagine that you can't just run one of your cell ph#s through ADT, but I've learned when to stop.  He's not that big on listening anymore.

I don't answer ANY of them and, thankfully, nothing gets in the way of that since my life is pretty simple.

It's still annoying and, for reasons I've yet to figure out, it seems like nomorobo stopped catching calls so they ring through.

There is just no way that something can't be done about this stuff.  They can ring through with fake numbers.  They can auto-dial.  Doesn't matter if you have a private number anymore, due to all the auto-dial stuff.   All of that should be fixable.

What I DID do, however, was to turn off the voicemail and answering machine so, at least they can't leave a msg.

@chickenbutt Please tell you husband that you DON'T need to have a land line with ADT.  They are able to hook it up to cellular service.  That is how ours is set up.  There is a separate cellular connection box in our house for ADT.  He may not listen but he could call ADT and inquire as well.

I'd LOVE to, but I have Vivant Solar and one of the requirements is a landline; the other, wifi.  At this point I'm often tempted to dump the wifi:  certainly spending much less time on "social media".

Yes!!  I thought that with the election and the deadline for Medicare advantage programs being over the calls would stop!...but NO!!  The last week or so has been pretty bad.

We keep getting calls that I never answer.  However I noticed calls coming from one particular area so I answered this morning...the wanted to speak with DH concerning insurance.  I told them we weren't interested and to please stop calling.

She had the nerve to ask if I was authorized to decline the call...haha!  I said that I was authorized to tell them to stop calling my home!

@haddon9 She seriously asked you that???  OMG! You had a great response! Smiley LOL Smiley LOL Smiley LOL

Thank You for that info!  Smiley Happy   Maybe one day, when he's not all stressed out, I can bring it up again.  Sometimes it's really difficult trying to talk to him because he's turning into this negative, hateful old man who is barely recognizable.

@Mersha - Lately my phone is indicating those terms as well, spam, fraud, etc.

Re: Does anyone else feel this way?

I just saw a 'Missed Call' on my landline.   I don't think it rang because the time it registered I was near one of my phones.

Anyway, I checked this missed call to see that they had put "Spam Risk" where the name would usually go, above the ph#.   That had to be Spectrum because nomorobo doesn't do it like that.

So, yay!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Does anyone else feel this way?

@eddyandme :  When we signed up for our service ( thru Frontier; no other options ) we had Dish, WI Fi and a landline. Ten years later I dropped landline and saved $50 a month.
