The First Lady didn't start the sleeveless trend. It's a fashion statement that she, like millions of other fashionable women adopted.
@chrystaltree@Annabellethecat66,Actually, I remember what was going on in regards to fashion eight years ago. Michelle Obama was the focus of a lot of news chatter because she brought sleeveless dresses to the forefront. During that time women began to wear sleeveless year rouns. There was a major surge in retail and ladies here started to complain about lack of arm coverage. There was a wave of shrugs in stores during that time in addition.
I totally agree. Sleeveless doesn't look appropriate in winter temperatures.

What is inappropriate about going sleeveless in the winter? I love sheath dresses that are sleeveless and own several that are made for every season. To each their own.

I think woman can wear whatever they like in any season as long as it's modest. If news casters, presidents wives, and show hosts choose to go sleeveless in the winter, fine with me. It's no different than the women who wear boots with summer dresses in the summer.
It's okay..

I agree, it's just clothes. Styles come and styles go. And Michelle O did not invent the sleeveless dress thing...lol

Sleeves, sleeveless, I don't care. I am sure Josie is always sleeveless so she can continuously apply oil to her arms and shoulders. After awhile it starts to look like my friends who sunbathed while slathering on crisco decades ago. I didn't have much sense then either but enough to know that was crazy.

I'm with Jane. Who cares whether someone chooses to go sleeveless in the winter? Heck, many men wear the same long sleeve shirts and ties all year round.
Depending on where a person lives, the norm for clothes and activities can seem contrary to others.

My thoughts went straight to hormones.

I think about the temps in studio when I watch the news. The male anchor is in a suit, shirt, maybe even an undershirt, lots of clothes. The female is in just a sleeveless dress. One of them has to be uncomfortable. I'm surprised male news readers aren't appearing in tanktops, too. Discriminatory I say! 😉

@ECBG Sent you an email. Hope you are well. I agree with you (about the look in the Winter). I know you know first hand about what is in and what is out. Take care. Love you.
