@Yardlie wrote:@Nightowl ... Sounds like there is a learning curve to using GoodRx. Someone else mentioned that you had to print out the coupon every time. Thanks!
@Yardlie Wal-Mart used the same coupon for both my refills. I guess they will tell me when/if I need a new one. I asked how long it was good & she did not have an answer. I have 1 more refill on this script. Maybe I need a new coupon each year when I get a new script.

I've heard of CVS stores that absolutely refused to consider a discount with this card. They wouldn't give me one, neither would Walmart. I tried to use it many places a couple of years ago when faced with buying some pricey meds for a sick dog. The only place that gave me a significant discount was our local Kroger-owned grocery pharmacy.

I sure do! I'm on two medications - one costs $5+ for a 3 month supply, but at the same pharmacy I was charged twice as much for the other - until I starting using Goodrx. I was paying $48 for it and pay $26 at a different pharmacy. Quite a savings.

But I do gets results eventually. They always bring up my deductable but I would rather save now, trying to keep the money in my checkbook.
@BeccaLou ... You cannot use it in combination with Medicare or Medicaid, but you can use it without having them run it through Medicare. I emailed GoodRx directly, and they told me this is true. Then I called around to different pharmacies. Both Walmart and Walgreen's said they would accept it and that it can be used even if you have Medicare or Medicaid. You just cannot use it in combination with either of those.

@pommom ... That certainly is a big savings!

My company handles dozens of discount cards including GoodRX and Good RX is probably the best I seen.
My company does the customer service for Good RX. First thing you need to know is the prices listed on website and the coupon you printout is just an estimate not a garanteed price. Also useing the price finder ( or what ever its called) make sure you are imputting the info correct. There are so many different dosage forms, strengths ... etc most people enter the info wrong and they get a inaccurate quote then call in and yell at me for the price they paid.
In general the big pharmacy chains should accept it like CVS, Walgreens. I do not think walmart accepts them since they have their own program. Stay away from small independent pharmacies foe even if they are contracted they dont have a clue how to process them.
Also ask walmart for they have a $4 drug program. My drugs were covered even tho I did not see it listed on the website for it. I believe its $4 for generics
Also try to get your doctor to prior-autherize your medications insurance does not longer cover. Prior auths usually last 6 to 12 months before the doctor needs to renew it.
Also if you ever need to call customer service always be kind and polite. The person on the other end of the phone is not trying to make your life hard. We really want to help if we can. We only can do limited functions as far as approving medications.

@kcladyz ... Thanks for the tips! FYI, I checked with our local Walmart yesterday, and they do accept GoodRx. They said to be sure that the coupon you print out has the correct mg., amount, etc. I was surprised that Walmart would accept it. I'll have to look into their $4 program also. Thanks again!

@Yardlie If you go to Wal-Mart online & search $4 prescriptions in their search box at the top of their page it will open another page with them listed by category. You can click on each category to see which drugs are covered under the $4 plan.

@Nightowlz ... Thanks so much! The variation in fees that are charged in the U.S. for drugs are soooo frustrating!!
