Does Anyone Here Have A Foot Bath?

I had a very basic model back in the 70s and got rid of it ({#emotions_dlg.confused1}) about 15 years ago. I thought I might like one again, and recently went on the hunt, but didn't expect it to be such a hard thing to find.

Not surprisingly, the one I used to have was made in the U.S., and I expected that I wouldn't be able to get one like that again . What was a shocker was that the new crop have jets, balls, waterfalls, sanders ({#emotions_dlg.laugh}) etc., while I wanted a basic model with a light massaging/vibrating action.

It's hard to go by reviews, too, yet most of the unfavorable ones mentioned that the jets didn't do anything for them, the bubbling action contributed to water-spill, the unit was too noisy, and the water didn't heat. After an initial run to the stores, I went back with my 20%-off BB&B coupon (I don't shop online), thinking maybe I'd try one of the lower-end Homedics models. Then it occurred to me that I'd purchased a percolator last year at Sears, and was surprised at their selection of small appliances, so I headed there and found just what I wanted--a basic foot bath. The plus for me was that it was on sale for $13.97.

This turned out to be like the one I used to have, with no bells and whistles. It has "nodes" on the bottom which provide a very light massage action when the unit's on. I put hot water in the unit so I don't expect it to heat it; as far as keeping it hot, I only soak for about 10 minutes, so I don't even care about that, though it seemed just as hot when I was finished. The biggest surprise, given the complaints I read about noise, was how quiet this was.

I love a bargain so, especially given the cheap sale price, I'd say I made a great purchase.

The pain they have cost us, the evils that never happened.
