Does Anyone Get B-12 Shots?

I was at my asthma doctor's office today for a regular appointment and I noticed a sign saying that he offered Vitamin B-12 shots. Has anyone got a B-12 shot and if so, what do you think about them? Have they helped you healthwise? Any information you can provide is appreciated.
