Re: Does Anyone Else Get Tired of Writing Product Reviews?

No.  I don't read them here and rarely ever wrote one.

On Amazon - I usually only check the one star ratings to see what issues people are having.

I write very few & don't know why qvc allows people to write them without trying the product. A lady yesterday gave the product one star because it did not come in white gold for example.  I have cancelled orders after reading reviews.

The Qvc reviews now say "verified purchase".  Disliked before when some people would just not even own the item they were critiquing.

I appreciate, seek out and rely on product reviews from my fellow shoppers -- not just on QVC, but also on Amazon and pretty much everywhere I shop.  But honestly, I'm getting so tired of writing them!!

At first it was fun weighing in and giving my opinion, but now that I'm ordering so much online, I just can't do it anymore.  I mean, seriously, it could be a full-time job if I reviewed EVERYTHING!

Does anyone else feel this way?

Not at all. If I write a review, I'm doing them a favor. I don't feel obligated to do it. I think you should cut back on writing reviews until it gets back to the point where you enjoy doing it again.

Re: Does Anyone Else Get Tired of Writing Product Reviews?

Like others mentioned I will write one of a product  that is very good or very bad on Q and HSN. I do read them as well as Amazon. I am don't bother with Amazon as there are so many. Most items I order are small that I can't find, no clothing or big ticket items.

I wrote a review on an eyeliner from a major cosmetic company  last week and they contacted me and asked further questions including the batch number and where manufactured.  I was pleasantly surprised the notified me of a full refund for the product. Another outdoor gear and clothing company gave me a$15 credit when I said the boots weren't all that warm for what they cost and that I had cheaper ones that are warmer. Another surprise.

I wouldn't feel obligated in any way to write a review and do it when I want to, so it is not a tiring activity.

I don't write them any more and don't think I ever will.  It generates spam and I'm not getting paid to advertise for companies: which are charging me a lot more for items these days so they can be big charities for causes I may or may not support and take my tax write off.

@Sooner  I'm not sure it would be possible for me to be more in agreement with that assessment. Well said and thanks. I do appreciate some factual, informational reviews from individuals that actually bought and have used a product so I might gauge whether it's worthwhile or not, but nix to the free PR and advertising nature of reviews.

I like to read reviews. I couldn't count the number of times they've saved me from making a bad purchase or buying the wrong size. So I do recognize their value.

I'll write a review if I think it will make a difference.

If a product or business already has hundreds of reviews, they don't really need mine to stay in business or keep selling. I'll pass in that situation.

But I will leave a review if I especially like something and there are few reviews, or none, for others to read. Or if the sizing, fit, or material needs more description.

Only rarely have I left a negative review. Something has to be pretty awful, or maybe misrepresented, for that to happen.

I write reviews only on things I love or things that really let me down.  I do always write reviews called Feedback on Ebay.
