Re: Does Anybody Relate to This?

@Carmie

I kinda want to be you when I grow up.

It's been between 4 and 5 years since I've really been able to do some home cooking and now that my husband is retired I would love to get in the kitchen with him and cook food to store in the freezer.

My husband has a really good stew recipe that he's tweaked over the years. It's so good. We're going tomorrow to get the ingredients to make it and take a good size portion to our neighbors to the north. They are in their 80s and Jack is not doing well.  Of course that puts a lot of extra work and pressure on his wife. Hopefully this will help them.

@monicakm   I live near Harrisburg/Hershey PA, so that is somewhat Northeast.

I am Italian so I make sauce with different types of meats too, but unlike my mother, not every weekend.

I only make it once in a while.  Since I am gluten free, I don't  make or eat pasta too often.

 My husband is not a fan of it, but my grand kids are.  I make my pasta....spaghetti and lasagne from scratch a few times a year, usually around the holidays.

I wish my husband liked to cook, but he doesn't.  He will grill during the summer months if I prepare the meats ahead of time and will make Sarma once a year at Christmas time... ( stuffed cabbage) but that's it.

He does do the dishes though.

Doing the dishes counts for a LOT, especially with all your activity.

My friend from Connecticut is 100% Irish and her husband is Italian. It is so interesting to me to learn about the differences of people in different regions of the country.  I love her so much.

Yeah, he puts them in the dishwasher.  But, pot and pans get washed by hand.

Now, if I can just get him to wipe down the refrigerator and scrub the sink....I'd be super thrilled.

The only thing that bothers me about this photo is the bad grammar.

No, I don't relate to the photo or the scare.

I've livin here in So CA all my life and that doesn't happen here.

Looks like all people hae to do in a snowstorm is EAT.  I notice that many are obese and overweight.  Seems many need to curb the eating and look towards staying healthy.  .
