If a guest who represents the vendor on a TSV gets commission also?

Aren't the guest (vendor representative) employees of the vendor? Their benefits, I suspect, are a matter of each company's contract agreement.

@Bonkers1   No, I am sure they don't.  They work for the company that is being sold on air.  It is their job. I imagine they get the usual business perks, airfare, hotel, meals and such. The usual per diem.  And if they are a fabulous vendor, maybe. A bonus end of year... but these days I doubt it

People here have posted ads for vendor reps over the years.  They seem to get paid by the number of appearances they make.  No commission mentioned.

Interesting half-questions you make for titles.

I think that it would depend entirely on the employment or representative contract that person has with the manufacturer or distributor.

Is that person an Employee, an Independent Contractor, or a Product Representative that is scheduled on an occasional basis?

I'm guessing that it's certainly not just about commissions.

I'm not sure why we'd care if a vendor got a commission, salary plus commission, or just salary. That's between the vendor rep and his/her employers.

Most likely that relationship is confidential between the vendor and company.  There are numerous scenarios that might work.  As long as the vendor and rep are happy that is all that matters to me!

Also interesting would be the approval of QVC over the representatives.  Wonder they have to just go with the vendor's choice?

I'm not sure QVC's approval is that relevant.  The manufacturer will select the best product representative for that type of presentation.

When I have heard how ridiculous some of the hosts behave on shows, I'd think the vendor should have some say in who is foisted on them.

Hey, JMO, of course.

I'm curious to know why we feel we are entitled to know the answer to this. I really don't care one way of the other other and don't think it is any of my business.
