I only watch recorded tv. I watch nothing in real time. I FF through commercials and news that I am not interested in. Now I find I want to fast forward through all the 30+ mintues worth of praise songs and announcements in church. It seems the sermon is shrinking. I want to FF to the sermon. When someone is explaining something I want to FF to the part I need to know. As I have gotten older I don't want to waste time...I need a fast forward button to wade through the stuff that is not important to me.

We worship in real time so I haven't noticed anything. When we aren't able to attend mass ,we watch on TV, and the service is the same. It is always live, and the hymns are always at the same point in the service
I think some of the churches on Tv might feel this is what people want...? If you follow another it could be a bit different , unless you only watch a certain service
There are articles I just don't read any longer ,because, they have lost my interest. I think it is better to be clear and concise ,that to rattle away

Sometimes I wish I had a rewind button when I'm running out of time to get something done.

Becareful that you dont FF through life and miss the important things. Becareful too what you wish for.

Life goes by all too quickly. Hitting the FF button you would miss things that although don't seem important now, just may be a life changer when you least expect it. I want to savor all of it, the good and bad. Learning takes time. Failure teaches. Skipping past what you don't want to experience may cause you to miss what you do want.

I think the OP is referring to church services, either on or off TV, where the singing and so forth comprise 30 minutes of an hour-long service and the pastor's message and the benediction together 30 minutes. However, I love the praise music and it took a lot of time from these dedicated persons to get to the point they were able to present in a worship service and I think it is God's intent that we honor that by watching, listening and remembering theirs, too, is one of the spiritual gifts from God as long as it is done for His glory and not that of the performer.

As I get older life is going too fast , I honestly don't know where the time goes. I love the DVR for tv but I would love to slow the rest down.

We record a lot. We'll even record sports and watch 45 minutes into games.
