We use You Tube TV and have no problems with local channels. Love the service and the price. We also signed up for the NFL Sunday Ticket when it was on sale. Now I can watch any team I want every Sunday

We cut the cable last November and saving a lot of money. I set up Roku on three tv's myself and I am not techy at all. It was super easy. I also have You Tube TV which has dvr included with no restrictions at all. My cable I could only dvr two shows and not able to watch anything else unless I wanted to pay extra for an upgrade. I get all local channels plus channels I didn't have with cable. I do not have an antenna. To go to last channel, you just need to arrow down twice.

Question for those who dumped cable for Youtube TV:
How do the fees compare? Meaning, my cable bill is out of control in part because of the "taxes, fees and surcharges" of $67 tacked on.
How much are the taxes, fees and surcharges for Youtube TV then? I'm sure they hit you for extras in one way, shape or form.

I've thought about ditching my DirecTV but after looking at what I want to watch with streaming plus the cost of a dvr and an upgrade to my wifi router for speed, the total package would not be saving me any money. I'm just not convinced that streaming is a better way nor is it a convenient way of searching and recording what I want to watch.

@PilatesLover there are no taxes or fees or surcharges on YouTubeTv. The price is $72.99 a month, that's it.

Some of the streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu Live TV, etc., are great.
Keep in mind though, that you still have to pay for an internet only service for WiFi, which is a separate fee.

We got lucky with our Internet Service. We were paying around $130 for cable internet. 2 different companies came in to install fiber. Now the cable company installed fiber. They are in the process of trying to get back customers that switched to one of the fiber companies. We switched to Bluepeak & pay $55 per month for 1 Gig. $5 of that is to guarantee no price increase for 5 years.
The cable company wants $80 for what we have with Bluepeak?

If you are not ready to cut the cord keep what you have for now. You can get a Firestick or Roku to start streaming all the free shows that are streaming.
I started streaming the free stuff just so I could see how I liked it before we got rid of DISH.
