Perhaps it's just because I'm not on the forums as often as I used to be, but it seems like lately every thread I come across has some kind of subtext that I don't know the origin of. Maybe ignorance is bliss, huh?

That's a fact, scottie. It's got to be harder to be in the public spotlight and to stay true to the beliefs or principles you proclaim to follow. Hard enough for most of us non-celebs, and certainly nobody's perfect.
