Do you take vitamins/supplements?

Maybe it's the labeling on the bottles, you know vitamins for 50+ and all but I guess I sorta assumed that most people over, I dunno 40ish, took vitamins. I take them because my diet isn't what it's 'supposed' to be. But I've talked to a few friends lately and the subject came up and they don't take them. I was a little surprised. Anyway, so I'm wondering if you do, what do you take and why and if you don't, how come? I take a multi but also magnesium because it seems to help keep my head clear and a B-complex. I could def get more hardcore with it but after everything I've read online about it all, I'm not sure they're really even doing anything. Except that my hair & nails grow faster when I take a multi so I guess it's doing something. Anyway, I'd love to hear what you're doing and what helps you.

No. Only if the Dr. tells me I need too.

They never did agree with me. I've tried many in my lifetime. But, who knows.......just maybe the newest ones would........It's just that now-a-days, I'm just too lazy to try 'this and that' vitamin. All of my patience with vitamins has disappeared!

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Tried taking a multivitamin and something about the iron(I think) made me want to hurl. Even if I ate something.

I was taking a flax oil pill but switched to occasionally using ground flax.

Otherwise I don't believe in all that stuff.

I did take Flintstones vitamins as a kid.

I only take what I am known to be deficient in, based on lab testing.

Re: Do you take vitamins/supplements?

The only thing I take is something for my digestive tract because I have issues and these have greatly helped.

If I was tested and found to be deficient in something, I would consider a vitamin or supplement. Other than that, I don't believe in them. I think if one is eating properly, the need for all these vitamins and supplements isn't there.

I used to take a vitamin for my hair, skin and nails and then realized, I didn't want to put anything unnecessary into my system for the sake of vanity. I personally think all that stuff is very hard on the liver. Then they sell vitamins, for the health of your liver! {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

I cringe watching the Andrew Lessman shows and hearing the hosts and callers talk about all the stuff they are taking.

The liver things hits really close to home with me, LD.

My mom had non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis. By the time she was diagnosed, it was Stage IV. She only lived 9 months then.

She was obsessed with vitamins and cleanses. I believe that contributed to her illness. All those vitamins and supplements are very hard on your liver.
