Face Value are two important words. In today's world it's hard to trust unless you really know the person or situation. I believe we all have our own opinions and thoughts. Who am I to judge . If I'm on the threads here and someone is not nice to me. I just don't answer their comment. It's not worth it. Face Value at times can be challenging and you have to use common sense in some instances.

We over here, way back when, were taught to re: newspapers: 'Read between the lines', which I always remember. However, lots of posters have many experiences which seem very possible (to me). So, I'm thinking that nothing is impossible, more or less. Some of the stories that many here think are 'made up', I always thing and/or say that somewhere there are very similar situations.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I try to avoid topics with which I disagree in order to avoid confrontation and use my time more constructively.

If you're talking about these boards only, then yes, pretty much I do take everything at face value. I tend to give everyone the benefit of the doubt..why not? Who does it hurt?

No, I like differing views, if I wanted agreement I would just talk to myself in the mirror.

There is a difference in posts asking for opinions, implied or outright. Some will relate an experience and how they reacted and wonder how others would react. Some want advice on what to do about a situation or perhaps what car to buy.

The posts I'm speaking of are the ones who ask for others to do something; might be prayers, might be send a Birthday wish, offer condolences or maybe support a cause. You don't have to do as asked but you don't have to disparage the thread either.

So neither of you ever offer opinions in threads where there is disagreement with your POV? You never feel the urge to express how, and why, you feel as you do about something in a thread where several hold an opposing view? You never venture into any thread unless it's one you agree with?

I realize this is possible, and I don't mean this to be snarky, but I'd find that awfully...Stepfordish, for myself. I don't like to argue for the sake of arguing, and I don't need everyone to see it my way, but like most people, I do have opinions and do feel motivated to state them.

Everyone who starts threads in this or any forum should understand, *and be able to deal with*, an opinion or POV different than their own. Discussion forums are about *discussion.*
