Sometimes, it depends on where I am. If it's a very nice restaurant, I go to the ladies room.
But if it's a casual setting, I just pull out a lip balm and quickly do it. It's easy and fast.

When you've been putting it on for as long as she has ..... you don't need no stinkin' mirror!

I did that on a double date once with a guy I had never met before. The girl was someone I barely knew from a new job in Philly where I had only been working a few weeks. She was very outgoing and friendly at first and told me she would love for me to meet this guy. So we went to one of Philly's best restaurants after work. After eating I quickly refreshed my lipstick.
The date did not work out well. I was not interested in the guy and he seemed just as disinterested in me. I have never been good at conversation with people I do not know. I guess that combination was the icing on the cake for this girl. She completely dissed me at work from then on, told everyone about the lipstick and how disgusting she thought it was and how snobby I was to her friend (which I wasn't, I just didn't know what to say to him).
She had been there a very long time and was very popular. I didn't stand a chance after that. I was young, only 39, and didn't know how to handle it. So I kept to myself and only made one friend there. I stayed about eight months and then resigned, not only because I was disliked but because my working in Philly with teenagers at home in Voorhees, NJ was not working out well for our family. My job had been for the Managing Partner, and he was ticked off when I gave notice and told me to leave that day, which I did.
Since that incident, I have never put lipstick on in public again unless I am with my family.

Sadly, I'm not very good at lipstick even WITH a mirror!

Yes but if it's actual full-on lipstick or highly pigmented gloss, I need a mirror.
I can do a balm or sheer color without a mirror.

Me too !!! Why is it a big deal to some people about not reapplying lipstick at the table? Its our lips not our privates!!!!
