Do you really want to fly? One doctor’s experience.

A cardiologist returning from New York with 25 other medical professionals posted a photo online Saturday of his flight from Newark to San Francisco. He was quite unhappy. The plane was full, despite assurances from United that social distancing would be maintained. United has even has a policy that middle seats will be left empty. The doctor who posted the photo said passengers were upset and scared and that he had no plans to fly again anytime soon.

That is truly unconscionable.

My daughter got lucky. She flew to Colorado on Southwest Airlines and had the whole row to herself.  The majority of the passengers did too. She said there were about 50 people on the flight.

Was he in New York for a conference?  It probably should have been postponed or streamed.

And there's no way I would sit on a plane with a mask on for hours.

@ValuSkr   No.  He was returning from volunteering in NYC for COVID-19.

I don't know about everyone else on this flight but he was not attending a conference.

It would be interesting if a contact tracer was kept on everyone who was on that flight. If it was mostly COVID-19 volunteers, look at what they were around.

@patbz   Makes sense.  I cannot imagine any conference being held during this time.
