if i started it, then yes, i read it.
if someone else started it then i generally do read it if the subject matter truly interests me.
if the subject matter seems like it MIGHT be interesting then i may read the first page and the last page.....if it seems good then i will go back and read the other pages.
if i read one or two posts and it fails to grab my attention then i dont read it.
if it is one of the really longstanding threads here (like pancake, for example) then no, i dont follow along with those.
so i guess my answer is.....it depends.....

Did you mean long posts or threads?
The posts I do because I don't want to miss important facts..
The threads..it depends..

I don't participate either. I don't know what to make of her.

No. Hard on my eyes, especially no paragraph ones.

I read most of them if I'm interested. I will say that some of the longer posts tend to include a lot of very good information about a subject, and if other posters read it, they could make much more informed comments. Sometimes I read comments and think, if they had only read this post or that post, they would know what's going on! It does irritate me that people are so uninformed about a subject because they don't want to take the time to find out what it's really about, then they post rather dumb comments! ( not talking about opinions, as an opinion is what it is ).....JMHO

Do I read loooong posts?
Usually no. Unless it is from Gardenman.
ETA: I took the OP's question to mean individual posts not threads, so that's how I am answering...as to "posts".

Some are well written. I like those, whatever their length.

Posts? Depends upon how far into the thread they occur. Sometimes they are just repeating what everyone else has alread said, so been there, read that.
Some I do skip over; depends on who wrote it and after a few lines can pretty much tell where it's headed.
