@ID2@justice 4 all - I see a lot of mistakes like you are showing.  Like, there instead of their, weight instead of wait, do instead of due, I could go on and on.  Not sure if they don't proof or just don't know.

Re: Do you proofread your post before submitting it?

I always check because my keyboard is old (like me) and often puts in double letters instead of single.  I still miss a few though, though.  And knowing that, I find it hard to criticize anyone else for small errors.  Don't understand why anyone would be so arrogant as to criticize others.

Re: Do you proofread your post before submitting it?

My posts aren't a thesis for a masters degree...lol   They aren't legal documents...lol   I skim through them but I don't spend a lot of time proof reading.  I think of posts as conversations and freely admit, I do make spelling and grammar errors.  So what?  It's the thoughts and ideas that matter on a board like this.

Re: Do you proofread your post before submitting it?

In most cases of typos or misuse of words it's still pretty easy to understand what the person is trying to say .....when speaking face to face I would never correct others for pronounciation or judge them because they used a word incorrectly. I try not to sweat the small stuff ...I have a much bigger pet peeve - like the correct way to hang a roll of toilet paper.  LOL

Being dyslexic I make far too many typos and proofreading doesn't help because in most cases I see it correctly even though letters got reversed.and spell check is useless in cases where reverse letters still spell out an actual word.... ...most common is fro instead of for or form instead of from... and so on.

A kind person wouldn't make an issue ,of something that could hurt others feelings. Kindness is a better thing

I try and sometimes I forget! Sometimes I go back and edit. I never considered it a big deal. It's a shopping forum not a thesis.

Re: Do you proofread your post before submitting it?

I will quickly review my typing before I post. Often I do not notice the error until after posed, then I will go back and edit it. I have a casual point of veiw about posting on message boards and as long as I can understand what a person is trying to say, then some bad grammar and typos do not bother me at all. I would think differently regarding, for example, a business document, but here, who cares ? And some folks - English is not their first language. Its not all that important to me in this type of environment.

Re: Do you proofread your post before submitting it?

I give it my best effort, but I have never been a good proofreader of my own typing.  Spelling hasn't been much of an issue for me especially with spell check.  My biggest problem is proofreading for content.

I tend to scan over so quickly my brain will miss words I may have left out.  I don't usually have problems with word usage, ie., their/there or lose/loose or principle/principal.  I really don't get concerned when I see mistakes by others on emails, texts, forums or blogs.

Now if I get a document from a government agency or an attorney with many errors I would sit up and take notice.
