Yellow diamonds. That's an "imperfection of sorts also.
I saw one I liked at a Levian show and I loved it. A "mere" $20,000!!!

Ok, sounds like OP doesn't know much about diamonds...lol She's confusing champagne diamonds and chocolate diamond with worthless industrial diamonds which is funny to those who do know diamonds. OP, what you call "brown" diamonds are from the Argyle mines in Australia. Although, there might very well be irradiated ones on the market now too. They are colored diamonds that range from a very pale champagne color to deep caramel color. They are fancy colored diamonds that come in various grades. It's a separate grading system from the one they use for white diamonds. They can cost many tens of thousands of dollars for the rare gem quality champagnes. It's perfectly ok if you don't like them but don't assume they are worthless just because you don't like them, especially when you don't even know what they are. I also don't care for the Levian Chocolate diamonds which is fancy brand name for the deepest color of champagne diamonds.

We had a LeVian store nearby and most of the stock was jewelry with what they called "Chocolate" diamonds. The store was usually empty when I passed by. They closed within a year or two .....from what I was told chocolate diamonds were not a big draw. Women are not embracing them the way that the jewelry industry were hoping.
Personally, the chocolate diamonds that I have seen look almost the same as a good quality smokey topaz, a tenth of the price and if cut well just as attractive.

Very similar and quite intriguing.....

Having been trained by a gemologist I sold fine jewelry for five years after teaching.
What most people don't realize is, the small diamonds calld "cluster diamond" designs are very low in worth.
Those small stones are the rements left from cutting large diamonds. Plus, the prongs are TINY and you're very likely to hit and break them.
Respectfully, small diamonds put in pave settings are dependent upon the quality of the parcel. If you get a parcel of ten pointers and they are full cut and are VS1, F-G color they are not low in worth. Small, single cut diamonds are what you may be referring to in a cluster setting in an inexpensive ring. However, small diamonds less than 10 points that are full cut and high clarity and color are expensive and not likely to break unless hit extremely hard. There are some beautiful Cartier rings with pave settings that are upward of $10,000.00 that are magnificent...

I wear a Levian "Chocolate" diamond pendant everyday and rarely take it off. It's set in 18 karat yellow gold and also has white diamonds in the setting. I treated myself three years ago after all the kids had left the nest and graduated college.

I took a gemology course when I worked at Jareds. It was said that there were a surplus in Australia where the brown diamonds come from and they wouldn't sell because of the color. So they called them Champagne diamonds and that made people think they were better quality and they started selling more and more. It is a marketing thing to sell off bad diamonds.

I cant warm up to the idea of any colored diamonds. To me diamonds should look like diamonds looked years ago.
But then again, Im more of a sapphire girl, not a diamond girl.
