I don't---I find them an imposition and I fell it puts a burden on the people you send it to.

No way. A few years ago I was receiving them almost weekly from a certain relative. One of them had a sentence on the bottom that said, "Who is most likely to NOT forward this", and she wrote my name.

No.

Not only do I not join in, if it's something that's not true that I'm being asked to pass on (like cellphone numbers being released to telemarketers, registration on the DNC list expiring, etc.), I'll respond to the ENTIRE mailing list with links to Snopes or Fact Check showing that it's not true and asking people to help put an end to the myth by NOT forwarding it on. It gets me off people's mailing lists for that junk pretty quickly!
