Hi @smoochy
YES! I have hired Cleaning help in the far back past, when I was exercising, then working from 3am thru to at least midnight. Sometimes even this work regimen for 24 hrs, straight thru even. (I was a "workaholic")
Then, when those work hrs stopped, completely, (medical reasons), I went back to cleaning my own place, kind of immaculately, that's the kind of environment & hard work I was expecting & preferred.
I've tried to keep up & some parts successfully, but not all parts.
Now, last few yrs, more & more, age & medically, isnt possible to have a totally clean home the way I wld like it. (Some have called it an OCD issue with me. oh well) So reluctantly, I feel being forced to look for, hire new cleaning help. Age & infirmity is just forcing me.

No shame
Good luck finding someone who is immaculate in their housekeeping. Perhaps you can. I had someone like that for 13 years. She died. I have had many since and none is that good, but they make it smell better and clean my husband's room very well, make his hospital bed and mop under it, and the things necessary for his room. Most housekeepers started out in motels/hotels and/or hospitals and are pretty good with that. The rest of the house, for them, is sort of hit-and-miss. I have to live with it. I no longer have an immaculate home but it is decent and my friends all know that I am not able to keep house like I once was and I don't care what strangers think.

No, never have.
I would if I needed help due to health reasons, but only for heavy work, vacuuming, etc.
My neighbor cross the street had cancer and she has M. Maids do her cleaning and windows inside and out. She love it!

If it is in your budget why not? I also am a great fan of having the lawn done because you get back at least half a day of your life and someone who wants to work needs the job. That's a win-win. I need help and people who need a job need help.

I did for many years while I was still working, wonderful woman! I miss her, as I didn't need to spend that money any more after retirement.
DH helps a lot, cleans his bathroom (though I give it a good look before we have company, since it's also the guest bath). He also does his own laundry, cooks often, and will do anything else I ask.
I can't clean the whole house in one day like I used to...so I do what I can, when I can. "Tidy and reasonably clean" is my motto! Since we have a dog & two cats that all shed, it isn't easy.

I do. It's a bigger house, I still work and hubby does not help at all with cleaning.
Go ahead and hire help if it's in the budget and you can find someone good and trustworthy! Or if not, You could just get a Roomba to keep floors clean, and then just keep up with bathrooms. Six weeks isn't that long in my opinion and I'm always a little suspicious of strangers in the house-

Yes. I didn't in our first 2 houses because I believed I could do it better myself. When we moved here 22 years ago there was a note on the refrigerator from the housekeeper the prior owners used saying that she would be here the following week. I was going to call and tell her we weren't interested but my husband said why not try it? I have never looked back.

I have a friend who likes to do that. I don't let her do it free although she would like to. She reorganizes my pantry and my closet about every 6 months. I have a large pantry and I buy lots of groceries when I go to Costco and sometimes just put them in there. So she organizes for me because she knows how limited my time is. I pay her. I could not let her do it without pay. I love that because she is a friend and knows how I like things, not how an organizer would do it. She is so great at that.

No, I do not use a cleaning service. I like to clean and find cleaning anything to be relaxing and gratifying. I'm generally a neat person, so my home is always clean and tidy. I clean the kitchen and bathroom daily and my place is small, so it isn't a grind to keep it clean. Lastly, I learned years ago that I am one of those people who cleans the day before the cleaner is scheduled so it always seemed like a waste of money.
On the other hand, if you do not enjoy cleaning and the service isn't a strain on your budget, you should definitely check out a service or find an individual who works independently to clean your home.

That's why I put up with not immaculate. I trust the lady I have now. She is okay but not immaculate. But she has been working for me 11 years and never a thing gone missing. She is usually on time within 30 minutes or so. That's about as good as you will get.

I do not. I do my own outdoor/indoor housework (I also work full time).
