I have a friend about the same age (66).  I've known her for about 20 years.

She does the same thing ... but she always has done that.  It's just the way she is.

From your post OP, it appears she only was interested in that particular church, correct?  Just to add to the conversation, maybe it was not the building, but the denomination.  I left that denomination for personal reasons as they no longer uphold certain principles that I do ... just my thoughts, nothing more.

Thank you all for such wonderful points.

She is not really a lonely old lady, she is very active, works with kids, volunteers and travels around the world with her family.

She just came back from a 15 day trip to Alaska.

My husband ( I asked him about this after I posted and read some reviews)  thinks she is too busy to focus and that's why she can not remember things.

He recalls a drawn out conversation about our plumber, the whole who, what, how and why.

A week or so later she needed a plumber calls us to get a referral- the whole conversation is repeated about the plumber. The next day I asked if she liked the plumber, she called another plumber she got out of the phone book.  ????

I think it may be just a quirk that may be getting worse as she ages (not that 66 is old) and that I am noticing more as I age.  LOL

@Abrowneyegirl

this is telling! she hears all details about the plumber TWICE and still calls a random plumber??? why all the time discussing the plumber referral???

definitely something WRONG!

I had mentioned it was an old Luthuran Church downtown, she specifically questioned which one, hence I thought she was familiar with the town.  But she had never been there so needing to know WHICH specific old, church seemed like an odd question to get stuck on.

It was like the plumber question, she must of asked 20 questions about the plumber on two different occassions then hired a plumber at random out of the phone book.  Then called me to complain that the plumber she hired was terrible and over priced........  I recommended she find a referal for a good plumber then dropped it.
