Unfortunately, I’m also in the camp of not liking dolls. I didn’t even play with them as a child. Not even Barbie. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was into teddy bears and later Hot Wheels. 🤣

Something about dolls eyes….👀

Re: Do you collect dolls?

I have two porcelain dolls.  I can't remember the name of the company but it was a popular one for collectibles years ago.  One is of a baby and the other is a toddler.  Both look a lot like my son when he was little.

I had them out & displayed and looked for a baby girl doll with a similar look like my daughter.  I never found any and today I am glad that I never purchased more.  My two dolls sit in their boxes on a basement shelf.

Eta:  This was in the late 1980s.  It was somewhat popular then but I never see those types of dolls being sold today though I'm sure there are some for those who seek them out.

I have a few dolls, but I don't think I was a collector. My (late) husband gave me a Royal Doulton doll (not figurine) for our anniversary that was blonde like me and wore a white dress, white faux fur trimmed cape, & faux fur muff that looked like my wedding gown.

I have a Shirley Temple doll, a W.C. Fields doll, Barbie, Ken, & Midge, and maybe 1 or 2 more.

My family's stores used to sponsor a doll show in 1 of the malls every year. Our stores sold some porcelain dolls, and doll collectors from the surrounding city were invited to display their dolls in the cases we set up. The displays were beautiful, with a mixture of lovely antiques and new porcelain dolls. The doll show always drew a large crowd.

I was a huge doll collector 15 -20 yrs ago .   Both qvc mainly Marie Osmond and hsn more Victorian era dolls only they are mostly 36" tall and very  eleborate clothing .

I then went on to one of a kinds and limited editions of 5 from a doll artist who became a good friend of mine .   She was and still is a fantastic porcelain and composition 1800 era French reproduction dolls .  The clothing is from that era , original and very well preserved or she wouldn't use them.  Very elaborate detai as well.   I have probably 15 of those ,  put away now in there boxes .   It's a shame,   But I just don't have  the same taste any longer to have dolls everywhere as I once did .   I prefer a cleaner none clutter look in our home.  I used to actually have a doll room .     it was dedicated to all my many, many dolls .   I'm embarrassed to even how many.   I have sold a few here and there back when collllecting was popular.    It isn't any longer .   I will only keep my one of a kinds and sell they others at some point.

i have also given many away to family members and friends.  I do have a couple Christmas dolls out that  are very special to me given to me by my husband.

I collect porceliain doll figurines.  I still have about 20 of them.  No longer in collector mode but I love the ones I have.

When I was young, my mother made a long shelf for my wall out of curtain cornice and used pink and white stripe contact paper on it.  I had a collection of about 8 inch dolls on it dressed as bride, Christmas, valentine, St patrick, etc..  Don't know why but when I got married I left them at home and can't remember what happened to them through the years, but would love to see them again.

I had a Halloween one, my sister had one for Nov. both from mom. They were cute.

I have a few. I have a porcelain baby boy doll, Michael, from the Ashton Drake baby collection from around 1986/87.

I have a singing Elton John doll that my son bought for me.
An Elvis doll. I have a couple of Barbie's in their boxes.

A Dexter doll, yes Dexter the vigilante, serial killer. I love that show so my son picked it up for me. 😝

A Miss Piggy hand puppet. And numerous, and I mean a numerous amount of Beanie babies, that my mom and I collected when they were really popular.

I believe we bought Princess bear on  QVC or HSN  or one of the shopping channels when that was a popular item.

Not a doll collector, but I loved baby dolls, Barbie and Dawn dolls when I was a child.  Several years ago, my sister bought me a retro Dawn doll. Still in its box.  She also bought me a few Barbie Christmas ornaments.

One year, I asked for Dawn for CHRISTMAS.  I GOT Gloria.  Cute, but somewhat disappointed.  Would never had shown my disappointment EVER.   After about an hour after finishing opening our gifts, my mom said, looks like you missed one of your gifts.  Yes, it was Dawn.  Probably one of my favorite Christmas gifts ever, and a great memory.  I was so excited to get both dolls.
