Thank You for the compliment.

I can't imagine anyone not calling the person back.

You're welcome, @occasionalrain!  I agree with you, yet there are those who wouldn't call back.  You followed your heart. 😊

Re: Do you answer your phone for “unknown callers”?

I do not pick up any call that I do not recognize, because everyone that I wish to speak with is in my address book.

Now, from my job I will get calls that just have the prefix, but I can tell that it's coming from one of the business lines.

I skipped a call over a week ago because I did not recognize the number. Turns out it was the dealership reminding me about my upcoming service appointment for my car. Ummmm.... I did not make an appointment so I called them back. It turns out they were trying to be helpful (insert eye roll) I told the lady to never do that for me. I have been scheduling my service appointments for many years without any help.

To add salt to the wound. The first service is at six months or 6,000 miles. I have not had my car for six months nor have I hit the 6,000 mile mark so what gives.

Never.  If there is not a contact made by me for a number it goes straight to voice mail.

No, I do not answer the phone if i don't know the number coming up on the screen.  Too many scammers, and if you answer than the scammers know they have a live one and will continue to call.  If it is an important calll they will leave a message so I can pick up then or just call back at my convenience.

I still get ghost calls.  That's a computer calling (no one is on the other line) But that's my land phone.  My medial, etc calls are for the that.  The rest of calls are ghost calls. Ironically, I never get ghost or robo calls on my cell phone.  Just people I know.  Still debating keeping my land phone!

The only reason I won't give up the landline, it would be my responsibility to notify every one of the number change and it would be my number they would be given.  Nope, not doing it.

Mercy I gave up my landline about 15 years back.  Telemarketers for years was all I was getting on that thing so I shut down.  Not once have I missed it.  Most people and businesses had my cell number so no updating was needed on my part.  Very quiet at home now.

No....I only answer when the caller ID lists the name.
