Re: Do any of you name your vehicles

[ Edited ]

Yes indeed....!!!

My 2011 Buick Enclave is named AUTO.

Auto likes to live in his heated garage.

He NEVER goes out in the rain, and never goes out in the snow.

He gets washed in the  Brushless Foamy Car Wash about once a month to keep shiny and dust free( he LOVES that foam soap that smells like bubblegum!!!)...

....His paint shines, his wheels gleam, his windshield sparkles!!!!

His dove grey leather seats are pristine!!!

Auto is dark green/gray and has every option available that year.

He has 30 thousand miles on his clock.

I don't drive much because my job invovled driving my Company truck hundreds of miles a week and I'm DONE with looking at the hood and the road.....so I'll be driving Auto til I'm 90 in all likelihood....

The hard part is...once you name your car, it's very hard if not impossible to trade him in...even if you want to!!!!

I'm retired, and only drive about 10 miles roundtrip a week to Aldi, Walmart,  and the gas station to get the mower gas can filled.

I fill Auto's tank about twice a year...and get his oil and filter changed once a year.

When I drive Auto, being a 68 year old woman who is now officially a Senior Cit-i-zen, I creep along, sometimes weaving over the yellow line a tad if someone is tailgating me on my rural road.

IF they are foolish enough to try to  pass me, as they go by with thier middle finger up, mouthing obscenities, I stare straight ahead, open my mouth all the way in a slack jawed manner, and tilt my head back a little so I'm looking at the road between the steering wheel and the dash board.

As they pass,  furiously blowing thier horn and gesticulating wildly, mouthing oaths,, I stare straight ahead as I wave my left hand derisiviely, while saying "Yeah yeah yeah"....and keeping my mouth  hanging open wide between words....

Sometimes I like to go grocery shopping just as everyone is leaving for work in the morning....( I live in a rural area so the roads are only curvy  two lane for the most part....)

Because ....when I was working, I ALWAYS got stuck behind some old party who drove along with the left signal on, 20 MPH below the 40 mph speed limit, and wouldn't allow anyone to pass.

Now that's me and Auto holding up traffic!!!

PS: I dust Auto off with a dustbuster between washes.

My neighbors on each side, single old men, want Auto if I sell him. ..they are always pestering me, but I  think to myself...."NO WAY".

I see how they mistreat thier jalopies and I'd NEVER be able to look out my window and see Auto abused in that way....!!!

Yes the one we have now is Pearl, cuz she is a pearl color.  We just took  Ole Blue to that big junkyard in the sky because she cracked her block and just to expensive to fix for that old of a car.

Betsy. Every car I ever had. Betsy. (you can do it, Betsy!) Dunno where it came from-probably an old movie.

@smoochy

I don't name my vehicles, but I have friends/relatives that do.

BTW, I like the name Sequin for your new vehicle.

Oh-- I had some pretty "colorful" names for the few cars I had--none were sweet or sassy--all were very "earthy" and down right naughtyWoman Wink Am very happy having no car anymore!!
