I'm chuckling at your post, not sure why there's a few not so nice ones. Those comments aren't necessary.
Anyway, I chuckle because I know what you're talking about. You gotta admit though glitter cards are pretty! It's a love/hate for me and I've been known to buy them myself!

I am a glitter hater on cards, Christmas decorations, etc. but I am always happy to get a Christmas card in the mail box even if there is glitter on it!

If I can feel the glitter through the envelope--straight in the trash. i appreciate the thought, but not the glitter! i have tried to open them carefully, over the trash can, but still have to use the dust buster to clean up!! please don't send me cards with glitter--i have enough family to clean up after--don't like cleaning up after receiving a card! lol
Never got one with that stuff.

I had an aunt that put loose glitter and confetti in every card ever sent. I learned to open them carefully over the sink. My house has been glittered all season from cards and decor. Every time I clean the floor I pick up more. But I put up with it because I like a bit of glitter here and there. However, I draw the line at glitter glue, which you would think would be less messy. Wrong. My granddaughter made homemade glitter glue slime this summer and that stuff is still all over my patio. Even she decided it was too messy.

Love the glitter!! I'm not such a fussy person who could get upset and have to immediately clean until every bit is gone. Months from now I will still smile when seeing some sparkle on my carpet or sofa. Life's too short to obsess about things so insignificant!

Glitter IS hard to pick up from counter tops - I've tried tape to lift it off as well as damp paper towels and some always remains. It can get in your food, land on your pets - I too avoid buying cards with glitter although do think they're very beautiful and used to buy them. You don't want to use your sponges either because it's impossible to get it off. When opening a card with glitter I am very careful and it goes in the trash right after I read it.

@nana59- don't worry about it. Happened to me with my "too much food" thread- LOL. Some posters lie in wait and the very second they see the tiniest bit of an opening, they pounce. It's like sport. I understood your original post perfectly.
As for glitter? I can handle a little, but a little goes a long way. In general, when I pick our Christmas cards for the year, I don't pick glittery cards.
I will say thought, that I've never had to use a dustbuster to clean it all up. Now, THAT'S some glitter!!!
