Do you remember your prom dress Mine was pink and lace

My prom dress was white, with spaghetti straps, appliqued flowers on the A=Line skirt. Tailored with an overlay of tulle.

My mother saw I loved it when were on a trip together into Boston (it was in the window of a then-Boston Dept. store, Jordan Marsh). She bought it as a surprise and had a wrap handmade by a friend who was handy with tulle and a sewing machine.

I was a nerd in high school, though I had a lot of boy-friends (as opposed to boyfriends) who asked me to the prom. But I was dating a boy who was a basketball star at another school, so when we showed up resplendent (he was a gorgeous tall blonde boy; I actually had had my hair done and was wearing makeup), it created a sensation. The nuns ... well, they could be crabby as teachers, but I have never seen such beaming good will from a group of people. (The nuns had the privilege of seeing the kids who had grown up under their tutelage first at the prom. At my Catholic highschool, we entered through the convent.)

I didn't go to prom. It was right at the tip of prom not being cool and the start of hippiedom (lol that was accepted by spell check). I did not want to go with the first boy who asked me and then it didn't feel right to accept other invites...shrug.

I was a vision in apricot polyester for my Junior Prom. LOL! Hey--it was 1877 and polyester was IN. I got married on prom day my senior year and skipped it. What a mistake. I knew I should have gone to prom.

I remember it well!

It was floor length, yellow, with white dotted-Swiss overlay. It had a forest green ribbon at the empire waist, with daisies trailing down the ribbon.

It had puffed sleeves. My mother took me shopping for it.

It was beautiful, and I felt beautiful in it!

yes i do. it wasn't that many moons ago as my mom loves to say!

i still have the prom pics and my boys love to see me and their dad. it was my senior prom.

it was a gorgeous white dress with black details.
