I remember when the plain, regular hamburgers at McDonalds were about $0.35. HA!

Blast from the past....
Yes, @JoyFilled Warrior I remember Evening in Paris in the dark blue bottle. That and the Tangee lipstick (which I think is still sold at Vermont Store)...like playing dress-up!

I remember! In 1948 I was 6 and we sat at the lunch counter eating a BLT or hot dog, delicious store made donuts with a hint of vanilla.
The toy department was just beside the lunch counter. Many items were 10 cents, a wicker basket with twin dolls for instance!

Took my three kids to a Woolworth's in the city during the Christmas holidays. (We took a city bus--which was so exciting for them---ugh!)
We bought 2 parakeets for a few bucks each. Toby and Patches. They lived for decades it seems, well, not that long. But they had a good life. They were just a couple of bucks each.
I don't remember anything else about Woolworth's though. Other than the birds were downstairs.....Kids knew exactly where to go.....

Boy do I miss Woolworth's!!! I loved their variety of items, they had it all and it was just a wonderful place to shop or browse. There was a Woolworth's in my city where I grew up and I often went to Manhattan to the big Woolworth's where they had food. Oh how I loved their pies, the best at the time. I always looked forward to sitting on the stools that lined up along the counter. It was so relaxing and exciting! Yes, I do miss Woolworth's and nothing has ever replaced that store since for me.

Yes I remember Woolworth.
I miss the good old days or maybe they were good because I was a kid.

Never knew what they served at those counters. That menu is way before my time.

@Buffalogal47 @sugarbee @JoyFilled Warrior My two cousins and I had Tiny Tears. We would buy the small variety pack of Gerber Baby Cereal and mix the cereal with water to "feed" our baby dolls. We also had Toni dolls. I still have mine and have collected more Toni dolls in recent years. About fifteen years ago, I designed and made Toni doll clothes and sold them online.
Like most little girls back in the 50's, I loved my dolls especially my Ginny dolls, that I still have. Those were the popular dolls just before Barbie.
