@proudlyfromNJ...Yes, of course!...I had just shared on a thread earlier that. sometimes, when communicating online, our posts can be taken in a way that isn't intended at all as it is so different than when communicating in person obviously.
So, I'm glad that we were able to resolve the misunderstanding.
Wishing you a great weekend!

So for some, it seems, talking with strangers online is enjoyable while in person it is not. Curious.

The posters here you get to know over time from what they post. Strangers not so.

I've known people that once you start talking to them, they won't stop talking, no matter how nicely you try to end the conversation. They "hold you hostage" so to speak (no pun intended!)
At least on a computer, you can walk away, or skip over a conversation when ever you want.

I have found that people like to talk to me. I look people in the eye, smile and say Hi, in stores, doctors offices, at the VA clinic, etc. Most of the time that is all it takes to get a conversation started, altho that is not my intent.
When I was doing therapy on my knee after surgery, I would see this man in the waiting room with his wife. He was very friendly and quite talkative, and turns out he's a distant cousin----his grandmother and my grandpa were brother and sister. I've actually met 2 distant family members through casual conversations in waiting rooms.

I take exercise classes at a local gym, and I have found myself chatting with people right away. I really enjoy myself. I have two especially nice buddies,
one a gentleman a little younger than I (two years) and another a woman
who could be my daughter age-wise, but a gas to talk to.... I really have found some lovely people who were strangers until I spoke to them. We talk politics
and have some pretty funny discussions about what is going on. But we talk about so many things now.
As far as casual talking in Doctors' offices, at the market, in our favorite taqueria,
yes, I very often talk to strangers.
