My local newspapers online now have a pay wall. I don't find much there to interest me in a subscription, way too much abt. sports. So I have found that if I go to the free online sites of the 3 local news stations or google, I can get access to the basic info. or the exact same article. Usually tells enough of the story. And also comments section to gain other insights. So it works OK for me.
Again today was a story, this one about a new recycling center for my city. One is very far from me and the other kinda far. So my interest was piqued to know was this closer to me? All sites talked abt. how eff. and green, but no address. So watched a local broadcast and showed the innovations, and still no location or street ever mentioned. I know I can google the county site and may finally know where this thing is, but sheesh what happened to who, what, where, when, how and why in a news story? Also a 13 yr. old hit by car on south side. Where did this happen, how is the kid? Do they know who the driver is? None of that info. anywhere. I know Huff. Post is notorious for leaving out basic info. cause they want headlines fast and fill in hours later. That this same shoddy stuff is passing on local TV and news sites is really exasperating me. Do you find this kind of shoddy reporting in your area?
