IMHO, the ones that are truly ridiculous are where the thread's title isn't clear or complete, and/or includes "...". So self-important, as if the entire Q community is waiting with bated breath.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

They don't affect me one way or the other. I see no deeper meaning behind their use.

Re: Do You Enjoy Opening ""Teaser"" Threads?

To be honest, I look at who is starting the thread before I open it. Some posters so rarely start a thread that I'm intrigued to see what it's about.

Re: Do You Enjoy Opening ""Teaser"" Threads?

I think "teaser" had different meanings for posters.

To me, it's when someone starts a thread about someone or something but doesn't tell us who or what they're talking about. We're supposed to figure out what the heck it's about.

Re: Do You Enjoy Opening ""Teaser"" Threads?

well, sometimes the subject line is too short for my thread title...lol

but a teaser thread to me isn't one where the thread title might be a little vague, but the OP's is vague. Those types of threads are usually ones that the Q would poof and the OP would be trying to bait (when I say OP - I am not talking about the OP of this thread - but of the "teaser" threads)

I also look to who started the thread - the one about the firefly, I know Marp wouldn't start a baiting thread. I also don't consider it to be a teaser thread, because she told you right off what the subject was.

Teaser threads don't bother me a bit. Sometimes I open them and sometimes I don't. No biggie.

Hate them! I've learned that it is inevitably a disappointment. Like bad mystery theatre dinners. Lol.
