So before starting a thread on any topic I do my best to make sure there isn't a thread already started. I do this for two reasons, one, who needs multiple threads on the same topic, and two, I never want to steal anyone's thunder.

I do but I don't really mind if there are more than one. Sometimes it is difficult to find a thread looking it up because they don't show it according to the date.

@Jordan2  Yes, I do my research, such as it is. Not always successful, but I try. Often, the question I wanted to ask was already answered. If I have something original to offer, I'm pretty sure I'm ok - like a picture or one of my recipes.

No, I don't.  I rarely start a thread and if I do, I'm pretty sure it's unique to me at the time, if that makes sense.

One thing I do make sure is my titles are perfectly clear.  You can read the title and know what the content is about.

I check if it's a TV show or something in the news and I try to make the title clear as to the topic. No one likes teaser titles.

I'll use the search bar; sometimes there is a slightly similar post from 4-5 years back.  Answers change, new info develops, we get new posters, so I post.

@Jordan2 YES!!! Thanks for posting something that I think about frequently.

ECBGG Several years back is different. It doesn't take much to at least check within the last day or two.

I think most of us do our best to be clear and not do multiple posts. However, in the end it just doesn't matter all that much.  Just read what interests you there is no law that states you must keep reading.

Not everyone is used to the BB navigation and some may haven't a clue how to search.

I got a new tablet and had to 'call a friend' to find out how to do a screen shot. Oh, and find it afterward. It turns out I need a file for them.

@Jordan2 Good for you for trying to make sure a topic has not been posted, but honestly, I probably would not...

this is a message board, not a legal forum...if someone already posted on the topic so be it, but  there are people here that will call you out for it!!
