Do I Have a Legit Complaint?

My middleschooler was marked absent in error. His school day starts at 7:15, however the recorded call to my home was not made until 9:40. Since I was not home, I did not hear the message until 12:30. I can't quite figure out why another call was not made either to my home or cell phone and if this had been a 'real' emergency, quite a bit of valuable time had gone by. I want to ask for a tighter notification process, but not sure quite how to proceed. Feedback?
