Do Animals Eat Your Flowers?

We have a lot of wildlife around here and have to be vigilant about their eating habits. A few falls back I went "bulb crazy," planting tulips all over the place. Two springs ago, I was thrilled to see the almost-overnight colorful display along with an array of other spring flowers. The next morning, I opened the curtain to a mass of stems without flowers, which wiped the smile off my face fast.{#emotions_dlg.crying} A few flowers had always disappeared here and there before, but with this number of tulips, it was even more noticeable.

We have a lot of bunnies, but deer were the culprits here. Last year, we got the animal repellant with pepper, and it worked. I start spraying the minute the foliage emerges, and re-apply after it rains.

I love animals, but I don't want them treating our flower bed as their personal salad bar!

The pain they have cost us, the evils that never happened.
