I see that someone else already started a thread on the true meaning of Memorial Day and I thank them for reminding us.
I had been thinking overnight about how we honor/remember our deceased love ones. I wonder if all religions allow or provide for honoring the deceased after the funeral?
Also, how do you personally feel about going to the cemetery to remember your loved ones? Do you go? Or not go? Why?
I personally go to the cemetery, not because I think that is where my loved ones' spirits are, but because I think it "honors" them and I think they somehow know. I am a genealogists, so I also honor and remember my deceased ancestors whom I never knew, but for whom I would not be here without.
