Our local Kohl's uses mannequins to show some of the clothing, which is pretty standard. However, the other day I noticed one of the mannequins was in a wheelchair. I applaud catalogs for having real models with Down syndrome, crutches, wheelchairs, etc. because life comes in all varieties BUT I think the concept of a disabled mannequin is just odd. Mannequins are fake people and fake people don't leave the factory accidentally in a wheelchair. Mannequins are intentionally and unrealistically perfect, because they are, well, mannequins.
Do you understand what I mean? Can somebody explain the other side of this to me?
