To start things off, it is our 27th wedding anniversary......so we went out to dinner at a very nice upscale-sort restaurant. Not snooty...just a nice bistro type place, fine wines, nice desserts, etc etc.
When we go out to nice places, my husband and I dress...I had a dress on, he wore a jacket and khaki pants, Casual but nice.
We get to the restaurant, and we start looking around and there are people a little more casual than us, but that's okay...they look as if they had been playing golf (there is a golf course not far from there)...but then, people started coming in one by one...or couple by couple. First one came in....he was wearing a shirt that looked as if he had slept in it for days....she was in a halter top and jeans. Next couple came in....shirt out of pants....and she was wearing shorts and a sleeveless top. Another couple came in....tank top and cargo pants, t-shirt and shorts and sneakers.
Do people get dressed up anymore to go out to dinner? I dont mean furs and your Diamonique or anything....but at least an ironed shirt and a decent outfit?
If this was McDonalds, or heck even Ruby Tuesdays I could understand it, but this restaurant's entrees start at $18.00 for pasta.
