My point was that the functionality isn't as good as the previous feature, in my opinion.   I've seen several comments that the red heart is still there after a person has "hearted" a post...  which means the heart didn't "take" or the poster "un-hearted" without meaning to.   Not an earth-shattering issue, granted, but I do think some posters aren't aware this is happening.

Re: Difference between a heart and thumbs up

I just started seeing the thumbs up today and my first impression when I saw it was not a thumb but a fist in a boxing glove.  I thought oh great has this new format now allowing us to give neg. notifications too?  Then I realized it was a thumb and I had not just hit a wrong button.  I prefer the hearts or at the least let me choose.

It still WILL be a heart..only YOU will see the "thumbs up".  On the thread it will still show up as a heart to everyone...

Re: Difference between a heart and thumbs up

Those awful "thumbs" do not always switch to hearts.  They are clearly visible on many posts, old and new.

What is the status of removing them?

I don't get why people get in such a tizzy over a symbol.  However, with all the changes going on there should have been a better way of communicating and getting the message out to the users to minimize the volume of questions (most repetitive).  QVC might want to start a new topic "RECENT UPDATES" and list the happenings there.

This was all I found and I had to dig for it after the fact:

Well, it ruined my day. I wanted to throw my notebook out the window, when i saw the new symbol. What are they thinking? Thumbs up, but what about thumbs down? At least they could send everyone a notification. How hard is that? Anymore changes like that, I will have to make a stiff drink and go to bed.

When I first saw it, I didn't know what was happening, either. I didn't know if it was some kind of browser change, or what. I had no idea, so I'm glad that someone brought it up here.

To some it may not matter, but I actually do like to know what is happening, whether it's with my own computer, or with a website that I am visiting. Smiley Happy

Someone is actually being paid to produce this nonsensr while there is still the page jumping on tablets.

Please fix what matters, the page jumping. Thumbs don't matter, they are unattractive, if they are going to stay, at least put a ring on them and a bit of color.

Hey @dooBdoo, what a great tag-line!  I kinda wish we could have rotating tag-lines, because although I like the one I use as a fav quote, I also like this one, although it is a twist on the orignal quote by George Bernard Shaw:

" Arguring with a troll is like wrestling with a pig in mud.  Sooner or later, you both get dirty and the pig enjoys it."

This isn't directed at a post in this thread or anyone in particular; I just noticed your tag-line & it reminded me of the troll experience in general.

And btw, thanks for the heads-up on un-hearting a post--I hadn't realized that yet, & was confused when I kept seeing posts I thought I had hearted now being un-hearted.  I agree, it IS more confusing, but just understanding that simple fact will make a positive difference--thanks!  I don't read every single thread or even every single subject header, & visit this forum sporadically from time to time as many people do, so I missed that.

LOL, @occasionalrain -  that would be appropriate for a shopping channel to have a ring on the thumb now, wouldn't it?  That's a cute idea!
