Did this year go better for you, than last, with your online orders?

Last year, I was one of those who placed orders close to Christmas, with "guaranteed" online delivery. None of my last minute orders were things I needed to have by Christmas, so I wasn't affected. But did feel for those who needed their things by Christmas.

Fast forward to this year. Again, I had all my needed Christmas items delivered a week beforehand, but bought some last minute things for myself...with guaranteed delivery by Christmas. I was okay with them being late.

My deliveries over the last 4 days have come from 3 different shipping companies. I got deliveries on Sunday! First time ever....and my last delivery came today, around 6:30 PM.

Kudos to all the delivery companies and their workers for their hard work this year! I heard most of them have been working 12 hour days.

I ordered over 50% of my Christmas gifts on line this year. I received all of them before Christmas by either FedEx, UPS or USPS. I even got a delivery on Sunday from USPS. So, I must say the ordering (me), shipping and delivery were better this year for me. I am a happy camper!

Merry Christmas.

Anika, I got two deliveries this past Sunday from USPS. I was so surprised. It would have been fine with me if I received them on the next regular delivery day (Monday), but I think they went out of their way this year to stay on top of deliveries...maybe just in case of bad weather.....

Re: Did this year go better for you, than last, with your online orders?

I bought most of my gifts online and I bought a few things for myself online and everything arrived quickly. Some by Ups, some by Usps, which delivered on Sunday. I did not wait until the last minute, I purchased the gift items before 12/6 to allow enough time. I bought Gili Roma 2 bag for my sister and thought that was lost in the mail because status said delivered but I didn't get it. I was disappointed and I bought a replacement bag, a Dooney, and I intended to call Qvc on 12/26 to report the loss. But.....I got a call from our Condo office. They had my package! They'd had it for over 2 weeks but failed to call me. Three women in the office and each one assumed the other called me. I was just happy to have my bag! I will give my sister the Dooney and keep the Roma 2 for my collection.

Only one gift to buy, and it went out ages ago to Europe. The rest were for us, specials we couldn't pass up and so forth. Fed Ex did take two days with an overnight (company's free shipping choice), and UPS didn't bother knocking or ringing the bell when we were home waiting for them (have to sign due to theft). If I hadn't pitched a mini fit, and talked to two people in another country, everything would have been sent back because we weren't going to be home during their delivery window. My biggest complaint is with some quality issues, and some are going back.

I didn't do much online shopping this Christmas. Which was unusual for me. Usually, about 80% of my purchases are online. I think for one thing - all the hacking stuff was kind of on my mind. And another thing - I was more on my game this year for some reason. Throughout the year as I happened to see something with "someone's name on it", I picked it up. So, I really didn't have that hard of a time being prepared and did not have to rush around at the last minute. Nothing worse than waiting for the mail every day -- hoping and praying for a special gift to come in time!!!

I haven't done holiday shopping for a few years now, but all my Amazon orders and the couple things I ordered from other retailers in the last month or so arrived on or before the ETA given.

I did order one little kitchen item from QVC a couple of weeks ago and it arrived promptly.

If you're talking about the Q then it was the same as all the other years. I've learned to stop depending on them one month before the holiday, period. I shop and buy elsewhere.

Got the once yearly wrong order which belonged to someone else.

I would never count on getting something delivered at Christmas time. First - it is too iffy and second - it is too important to me. So , unless it is months away I shop locally for Christmas. I did get my DH a smart phone tracfone from HSN but it was before Thanksgiving when I bought it so I wasn't at all nervous about it not coming on time. I shopped around a bit to see prices on this specific phone and just as in the summer when I got myself one - HSN had the best deal.

I have never experienced issues with ordering, but I do my best to have all gifts ordered and in my house by Nov 1st. The orders I placed after that were not gifts.
