Did anyone help color Easter eggs this year?

Got an Easter egg coloring story for us?

@qualitygal

I miss coloring Easter eggs!  As a kid, I always looked so forward to getting to do this.

This year, I'm just filling plastic eggs with candy.  However, I am boiling some for us to eat tomorrow.  Just wouldn't seem like Easter without them.

Hopefully, someone will have a fun story to share.🐰🐣🌸

Re: Did anyone help color Easter eggs this year?

I just was at one of my daughter's for Easter baskets and brunch and a favorite neighbor couple and my grandkids had decorated the eggs.

They were marbled! So pretty!

My daughter said they were a marbled Easter egg kit where you add a little oil and they come out marbled.

What will they think of next?! So pretty and unusual.

Years ago where my kids grew up they always had an Easter egg hunt at the lake. Eggs hidden all over and one golden egg. One year my son found the golden egg. It doesn't get much better than that!

Ever since I can remember when I was little til now, we've decorated eggsSmiley HappyOne of the joys of the Easter seasonSmiley Happy

Does anyone remember when pantyhose came in that large golden egg?  That's what was always used as the prize egg years ago.

Also, there was only one prize egg.  I thought that kind of made it more special, even though I only found it at church once maybe.

 Now, I kinda feel like I have to make a prize egg for every kid coming over.  I tell them if they've already found one, just to leave it alone if they stumble across another.  I do think it's more special if there's only one though.🌸🐣

I didn't help.  I colored them all.  I just put on gloves, use my fingers to apply food coloring....very little....I like marbled eggs.   When dry, I rub with vegetable oil so they shine.

I made three dozen hard boiled eggs yesterday.  I doz to color, 1 doz for deviled eggs and 1 doz for red beet eggs.

I think with little kids especially and also if from a family, that everyone needs a special egg or just not to have a special one at all. Because everyone wants a special egg! The only one who is happy is the one with a special egg.

If it is a huge amount of kids, It's ok because there is the excitment of hunting and they all get other eggs anyway. And most don't know each other.
