Re: Did anyone hear about this possible conseqence from coronavirus

A friend sent me a link showing how they make "gutter oil" in China. It is absolutely vile.  Youtube it.  There are videos showing the process and how the oil can then be used for cooking the street vendor foods.

@hopi   It was the president of China, Xi Jinping, who initially said this.

If you go back and actually watch what #1 said, he didn't predict this; he clearly stated he had a long talk with Jinping.

Amazing how people will twist facts.

That is because we don’t have the virus circulating here but if that happens things could become a miserable mess.

@KatieB   So said the president of China.  You do know this, correct?

@suzyQ3 @I have read reports where they say they think it is unlikely but none that say no it isn’t possible.

Doesn't matter who said what.....weather does not prevent a virus.

Here in the States, flu/colds are still active, although not as prevalent

between November-Mar, in the spring/summer months.

Google said Gutter Oil is considered a usable & legal raw ingredient

to make rubber, bio-fuel, cosmetics & soap.

@sidsmomOf course it does and you know why those posts showed up.

Re: Did anyone hear about this possible conseqence from coronavirus

We have a flu season, that's true. But people still get the flu in the summer. And the more contagious the virus, the worse that would be.

If all it took to avoid flu was warm weather, you could just move to the south and never worry about viruses again. And people in all hot climates would be disease free.

Proximity is what makes a difference. Unless you work from home or home school your children, never shop for groceries, never travel, and basically avoid all people in groups inside, you've got plenty of vectors to allow contagion.

I'm still not worried. But I wouldn't allow official statements from a totalitarian government that freely lies to its populace influence my thinking one way or the other.

When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
