Well, Daniel Craig did a 007/helicopter bit with the Queen when the Olympics were in London, so .... 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's entertainment. Everyone doesn't have to be an athlete to be part of the ceremonies.

Tom Cruise is recognizable in most counties as his Top Gun movies are quite popular. He was the perfect person to connect LA to Paris & the athletes seemed to enjoy seeing him. All of the performers in closing & opening ceremonies were iconic & did a great job. I enjoyed the LA performers as well. I really enjoyed Snoop Dogg thru the entire Olympics & it was fitting he performed last. He gives a lot back to his community & is very quiet about it.

One of my favorite clips of the Olympics was Tom Brady’s face during Simone Biles performance; she was 12.2 feet in the air at the time.

I saw blurbs about Cruise on the news this morning. There is something creepy about him so I tend to avoid everything he's doing.

I got sucked in to watch it with all the hype and I enjoyed it! About Cruise, I was thinking he's in great shape for his age, I think he is 61. I'm in my 60's and he inspired me to realize it ain't over yet. The singers were all good. I was hoping Mayor Bass didn't drop the flag. It looked heavy for her to wave around.

@feline groovy I understand that.  It just seems to me that since the next Olympics are in Italy, that is where the focus should have been.  But those since those athletes won't be there, I guess that makes sense to go to the summer place.

The hand-off has always been Summer Olympics to Summer Olympics. 

Tokyo handed off to Paris, Paris to LA.  Summer to Summer.  Winter to Winter.

Beijing handed off the Winter Olympics to Italy back in February 2022.  That hand-off ceremony already occurred:

I  think because of the fact ,he  has no relationship,with his daughter is just terrible.
