My buddy who lives in LA and is a screen writer just emailed me 15 minutes ago about how he disliked the movie. He Said it was very long and has a one dimensional gruesome plot.  There are others I'd like to see. Will prob skip it.  12 nominations

That's what my son does too...he is basically a writer, but also edits.

He didn't like it either, even though he admired the cinematography. After his "review" (based on a screener, not in a theater, I would never see it.

Oh just read how grueling it was for them to film this movie! I feel Leonardo DeCaprio should whole heartedly get the Oscar for portraying this particular role! No doubt about it. Yes, I thought this movie was fascinating and very well acted.

I think Leonardo DiCaprio acting was outstanding and definitely a award winning performance.

The movie was a little long and dark.

Re: Diappointed in The Revenant

The movie is loosely based on a true story and as a historical junkie I went to see it. There were some unpleasant scenes in the movie and some scenes I just couldn't watch. However Leo did his acting all through 'pain' and sheer will to survive, it was amazing to watch thats for sure. I do hope he wins an AA he certainly deserves it after making that movie.JMO
