I read with interest about a month ago, posts hailing the glories of Detroit, replete with beautiful pictures of Detroit landmarks. The subject arose after the Eminem car ad that appeared during the Superbowl, romanticizing Detroit. Any poster who pointed out the very sad economic situation there, (I believe directly attributed to horrible public policies of the dominant political party in the state --blue) was ridiculed and mocked.

Well, today, on Forbes.com, there is an article detailing "Cities Where Things are Getting Worse." Detroit is Number Three on that list, behind Riverside, CA and Stockton, CA.

Stats for Detroit:

MSA: Detroit-Warren-Livonia, Mich.

Unemployment rate: 13.3%
Mortgages 90-plus days delinquent: 5.42% of loans
12 month home price forecast: 2% decrease
2011 net migration projection: 1,340 residents leaving
2011 Job growth projection: 0.53% increase

very, very sad to see a once great city sink to Number Three in this distinctive rating.
