...has announced that the upcoming season will be his last:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/derek-jeter-announces-retirement-on-facebook-%E2%8...

I worked with his mom for many years while he was growing up, and it really, truly was his dream to be a New York Yankee. Derek and his sister Sharlee were the only kids that ever actually asked permission before they helped themselves to the candy dish in my office. Smile

He's a great guy from an even greater family and I hope he has a fabulous farewell season!

I am by no means a baseball fan but this guy always seemed like a class act to me.

Here's hoping his final season is a good one for him. We never like hearing when one of our favorites is quitting the game...... at least you have good memories of him......

Hi neighbor, Smiley Happy

Are you ready for the snowmageddon? I hope it is snow and not ice or freezing rain mixed with snow.

I kind of thought this might be his last season. He was out most of last season with injury after injury.

The Core Four is not the Core One. After this year..............no more. Smiley Sad

I just hope the Yankees stay healthy, are competitive and make the World Series.

mgm, same amounts here. UGH.

I got gas for the snow blower the other day.

I had a hard time finding salt. I found a local hardware store with some. I could only buy one bag at a time.

Stay warm and cozy. Hope the power stays on for you.

Take care. Smiley Happy

The GREATS, one by one, are starting to retire. Chipper Jones retired from the Atlanta Braves last year.
