Is this supposed to be funny?

Three months ago I started using the Oxytrol patch and it has helped immensely so now I no longer need the pads. So I am someone who is DIRECTLY affected by this and I found her little joke amusing and hardly was offended by it. I guess we should be grateful that babies can't read or write or we might have them expressing their outrage . like I said where did our sense of humor go???
ALL babies wear diapers. It's considered a natural part of their development. That's just the point, babies can't read, write and don't expect to be able to take care of their toileting needs. Just because someone doesn't think making fun of someone's health issues is funny doesn't mean they don't have a sense of humor.

KathyPet, you are speaking for yourself. Perhaps you have a sense of humor about your own condition, but others of us who have watched loved ones deteriorate from medical conditions which may include incontinence, cannot possibly find the humor in it. No it's not funny. It's heart wrenching.

I think most people have probably made a joke about a delicate situation without really thinking about it, not meaning any offense.
Guilty! I'm human.

Obviously, it hit a nerve. Sorry.
That's okay, Dagna. You're a good person and didn't know this would happen here.
i knew how it would turn out and i'm not even psychic. lol
I took it as the latter...

Can't you understand that losing control of one's bodily functions because of health or age just is not funny to everyone?
I know in my personal case, my sister finds it horrible that she is losing control of her body due to MS and HATES it. It makes her sad, depressed and that is not funny.

There is a huge difference between being losing control of body functions and wearing glasses or dentures. Get Real KathyPet.

On the flip side, my friend is in a wheel chair with ONLY eye movement to a computer and SHE jokes about every thing!
She even came to Halloween as a "sexy nurse"..Both her and her caretaker are AMAZING!
Not one ounce of "poor me" and I am in AWE EVERY time we meet..
Marianne, you have been here LONG enough to know that there are MANY subjects discussed that are not funny to every one...
I didn't find the "joke" amusing but I also don't feel the need to make her feel any worse than she probably does now...and it DOES make a good point, especially for those us who have witnessed it...
