Depends are a terrible brand. After going through different brands to find the right diaper for my mom I finally found one that was comfortable for her, Molicare. It cost a fortune but she felt drier and they fit well.

BTW I'm not offended by the OP.

When I was younger, I used to call the 1-800 numbers to have a free sample of Attends or whatever sent to my parents, as a joke (neither of them needed them at the time).

A year or so ago, I noticed something like that in the bathroom my mother usually uses, and I know my dad had to use them when he was on a liquid diet and still had the cough from the tumor in his esophagus (before radiation). When you've given birth to 3 kids and then gone through menopause, or you're on a liquid diet and cough frequently, accidents may occur. I hope my parents can view the issue with as light a heart as possible. Stuff just happens to our bodies. I can laugh at a joke about Depends, but I'm not sure I'll do so around my parents...because--even though I know neither of them will start crying--I doubt it would be appreciated. I hope when the time comes that I need Depends, I will be able to laugh about it rather than cry or feel bad about myself.

The commercials are kind of funny...and I think they may be helping to de-stigmatize the issue of incontinence, so that's not a bad thing.

Family member with Alzheimer's and they are a life saver. That does hurt! More than you know. It would never depend on who is in the will. So I second this statement. He used another product. Haven't seen an ad for these.

I agree. I have a good friend in this position who actually feels guilty about having to wear them. It doesn't help that people joke about it. There are many illnesses that result in the need to wear them.

ITA. I suppose if you are young and far removed from this issue with zero experience in the world and little compassion for people who suffer, you will find this funny or cute. Incontinence is due to many illnesses and does not even afflict just the elderly. It is also not a "new market" for men. I hope those of you who do not have personal experience with this or with a loved one never have to.
