I know several women that have to wear protection of some kind all the time. And they aren't all older women either. There are many causes for this kind of problem, and it isn't anything to laugh at. None of us knows if and when we might be needing this kind of item.

From what I can tell, this is a rather big expense for those that need to use them......guess between TP and this kind of protection, the vendors know where they can really hit people in their wallets.......

It's too bad they aren't covered as a medical expense by insurance. They are provided for free in other countries.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

puleeze---I mean no harm nor disrespect---the ad itself is a laughingstock--I'm sorry that physical conditions make these necessary---and let me tell you---I was hospitalized for 4 months 98% of that time in a coma--I was transferred to another (real bad story) hospital for 2 weeks and when my family brought me home, my daughter put me in the (much needed ) shower, I had a diaper and had no idea how it got there---lighten up

"there is an ad for "macho" men who wet their pants lol"

That sounds pretty disrespectful to me.

very funny!!! I also thought it was because with an adult load, it can be quite big and it "depends" on whether or not the diaper will be able to hold it all. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I'm so sorry your sister is so sick --we all have challenges, and hers sounds exceptionally burdensome--

we are fortunate to have devices to make our lives easier and better---but the ad is silly--you are simply taking it out on me because I'm here

There used to be ads shown where Depends were offered at lower rates if a prescription were written by the doctor? I haven't seen the ads in a very long time.

Depends and other undergarments like them are a blessing to those that require them. Horribly expensive, even by the large box at Costco. $41 plus tax for 42 of them?? I think that's what it was. It's been probably two years since I last bought them so my memory may be a bit faulty as to the price. I just know they didn't last for long....

They also give someone some dignity because they do look so much like a garment. Better protection than what is not-so-fondly remembered as a 'diaper'.

I see a package of Depends and it brings back some painful memories. It's not a subject that deserves laughter. It does deserve understanding.

the point being that there are real people using these items, not because it is fun or cool--because they have to --so making fun of it is just not anything funny at all.

real people with real feelings. The stigma does not help.

I am with you kdgn. My experience with two of my most loved ones and Depends...not cute or amusing. I guess if I were young and hadn't had the experiences that I have had I might feel differently.
