I guess I just don't see this as funny, as I have a family member with MS that needs to use what she can to be as independent as possible--including items like this.

She hates, absolutely hates, that people think she is different, or looks funny or doesn't walk well…..hates it. And that hurts.

My dear friend who has cancer wears them sometimes and you can't even tell. I think it was Lisa Rinna who even did a commercial wearing them and to prove you couldn't see it.

I agree. I have a good friend in this position who actually feels guilty about having to wear them. It doesn't help that people joke about it. There are many illnesses that result in the need to wear them.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

I have a friend who wears that style. They do not even rustle like the old ones did.

Sylvia......that really isn't funny for those men that have to use them. They have pride too.....

No one has ever said this is only a female problem. Thank goodness they do make them for men too.

No gazelle, they are made differently for men than they are for women.

I know several women that have to wear protection of some kind all the time. And they aren't all older women either. There are many causes for this kind of problem, and it isn't anything to laugh at. None of us knows if and when we might be needing this kind of item.

From what I can tell, this is a rather big expense for those that need to use them......guess between TP and this kind of protection, the vendors know where they can really hit people in their wallets.......

A number of the folks that I know that use protection are ones that use the pads......and I know they say how expensive they are.
