Dentures - A Question

Hi there, I'm going to need an upper denture. Was wondering if the dentist could pull all the teeth and put the denture in place in one visit? I'm hoping this is so as I don't want to leave the office with missing teeth since I do have to work. Hopefully someone here can answer my question? Thanks!
